Mottaini Mirror

$600.00

Cherry Hardwood

Dimensions: 24” x 24”

This one-of-a-kind mirror is framed using offcuts of cherry hardwood scraps collected from the studio and reimagined into something whole. Each piece of wood carries a story: remnants from tables, benches, and past projects, now thoughtfully joined into a sculptural, functional form.

Named after the Japanese concept mottainai, which expresses respect for resources and a refusal to waste, this mirror transforms leftovers into a lasting object. Every frame is unique, with visible joinery, shifting grain patterns, and small imperfections that speak to its origin.

Designed and built by hand, the Mottainai Mirror is a reflection of both craft and care.
